'Olympic Welcome'
Baron Pierre de Coubertin conceived
the five interlocking rings, their
colours reflecting the flags of the
world, as symbolising the conjunction
of the continents during the Olympic
Games. One could also see the rings
as a symbol of welcome to the athletes
and the world of spectators. Here,
in the spirit of friendship, I have
created a piece of furniture for the
hallway which will welcome people
as they enter.
Interlocking
rings in painted and lacquered wood
with chrome supports.
